The Portguese Water Dog is an ancient breed recognized for its talents and abilities in support of fishing activities of old. Although no longer used on the fishing fleets in Portugual, the working heritage of this breed lives on through the inception of modern day water competition trials carried out under the rules and regulations of the Portuguese Water Dog Clubs of America and Canada. We at Charbr are proud supporters and participants in training and trialing in these events earning multiple titles with our dogs. We are proud to brag that our Nemeau is the first Canadian born PWD to earn the highest water title level (Courier Water dog Excellent) and Versatility award in this terrific sport.
